COOL COMPOUNDING

IS...

the process of taking a neat, general purpose thermoplastic and mechanically blending in color or additive masterbatch pellets.  The common term used to describe this process is “salt and pepper.”  Plastics Plus has three strategically located blending facilities in the US – Auburn Hills, Michigan, El Paso Texas and Charlotte NC. If we don’t have a facility near you call us to discuss how we can support your needs locally, perhaps even in your own plant.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF

COOL COMPOUNDING?

Speed of delivery, inventory elimination, and lower risk of obsolete inventory. Unlike most pre-colored resins, cool compounded blends provide the customer the flexibility to order the amount of material they want when they need it. There are no minimum quantity requirements resulting in expensive inventory carrying costs and obsolescence risk. In addition, using cool compounded blends from Plastics Plus greatly reduce or eliminate long lead-times by maintaining inventory in their lowest cost reusable forms – natural resin and masterbatch.
